Conference 2018 highlights
Our conference brings together parents, students, educators, researchers, school boards, and ministry staff to connect with and learn from each other. This year, we explored the role of public education in creating a better world.
In a time of rapid social and economic change, well-resourced schools are more important than ever. Results from the 2019 Annual Ontario School Survey show the impact when policy change is supported by resources and coherent direction. Our response to Ontario's recent education consultation
In the fall of 2018, Ontario’s Ministry of Education engaged in province-wide consultations on a range of issues. Our response focused on three areas: standardized testing; preparing students for the future; and the health curriculum.
In January, 2019, the province announced that it is considering changes to the way school boards hire teachers. Consultations on the proposed changes are open until May 31.
